Broom with a View by Sara Bourgeois

Broom with a View (Wicked Witches of Coventry Book 3)Brighton stumbles onto another body. This time, it hits even closer to home as the woman is her brother Brody's fiancee and it may be that Brody will be considered a suspect, especially since the woman seems to be the victim of a serial killer so the FBI is now involved.
Also jolting her life at the moment? The builder who is fulfilling the terms of a contract her Aunt Maude set up 30 years ago for a new garage. The man is BUILT and the women in town are all attracted. He seems to have eyes for Brighton though so that's a third man now after her.
Her relationship with Thorn is shaky and she doesn't know why but at least Remy seems to be coming back to himself.
Like the other two books, you'll need to understand that this is a short book that is fast, fun, and really fluffy. Plot points are introduced and never followed up on. And Brighton isn't really developing as a character. You'd think that, after centuries of witches being able to hide their powers, she'd get that it would be a good thing to do but she tells, well, basically everyone what she is. I've enjoyed the stories so far and allowed for character development being limited by length but she is getting a little TSTL. Hopefully the next book helps her figure it out.

Accessible Yoga by Jivana Heyman

Accessible Yoga: Poses and Practices for Every BodyThis book achieves what it sets out in the title/subtitle. We have an introduction to the teacher, to the philosophy, and to the practice. I have to admit that one of the reasons that I enjoyed the book is that my idea of yoga aligns with the author - not every pose is for every body. There was so much adherence to the "proper alignment" for so long and it ignored the fact that not every body is able to move like those poses and it may, in fact, be inappropriate for some bodies. The many variations shown in the photos give many options to all levels of movement and bodies.

Death Beside the Seaside by T E Kinsey

Flo and Lady Hardcastle are on the road again. This time they are heading to the seaside to enjoy time away from the country. But the country isn't all it's cracked up to be. Though they found a quaint little hotel by the seashore, they seem to be the only English people staying there. Except for Dr. Goddard. He's a scientist with loose lips since he seems to be telling all and sundry that he is working on a top secret project and he has brought it with him.

Well, not surprisingly, Dr. Goddard disappears somewhat abruptly and so does his strongbox. But then dead bodies start cropping up and Flo and Lady Hardcastle are dragged back into the world of spy vs. spy.
This book probably could have been cut by 100 pages and still had the same story. There was so much exposition it got rather boring. There were touches of humor here and there (Mr. Righty and Mr. Lefty) but I wish the pacing had been more along the lines of previous books.

One Christmas Eve by Shannon Stacey

One Christmas Eve by Shannon StaceyZoe Randall is divorced and doesn't need another disapproving man in her life. Especially not one she accidentally cut off and now is shooting LOOKS at her mildly provocative book display. But Preston Wheeler doesn't mean to be that disapproving. And he certainly doesn't mean to accidentally egg her on into making an even more provocative display about candy. The two finally can admit that they have an attraction to each other
Things that made me smile:
Book flirting (the catnip item I didn't know I needed in my life.)
A paragraph dedicated to Preston's forearms that got me quite warm)
Zoe's cousin telling her that she can only be treating Preston that way because Zoe is either projecting her ex on to Preston at him or is trying to create reasons to be mad at him because she is hot for him
Straitlaced and kooky discovering that they can be perfect for each other

At just under 100 pages, I really was surprised how much of Zoe and Preston's personalities we got as well as how much we got to see their relationship grow. Could have done without the last Big Misunderstanding because it didn't really fit but overall a delightful, bite-sized read.

Finding Home Again by Brenda Jackson

Finding Home Again by Brenda JacksonThe relationship between Bryce and Kaegen has been a thread through the other books in this series. Formerly high school sweethearts, Bryce and Kaegan had a falling out when he misinterpreted something he saw without talking to her about it. But after about fifty page, he's discovered his mistake and is ready to make it work.
That man did NOT do enough groveling in this book. Ten years of attitude and he is just like, "Oh no, I was wrong. Oh well, we should get back together."Frankly, their could have been a lot more of the two finding their way back to each other (like the last book in this series) and a lot less drama of the romance triangle.

Rancher's Wild Secret by Maisey Yates

Rancher's Wild Secret by Maisey YatesHolden McCall wants one thing from Emerson Maxfield; the means by which to revenge his sister's honor. Emerson is going to inherit a chunk of her family's winery upon her marriage and Holden wants to use those shares to get revenge on Emerson's father. So he seduces her and then blackmails her into marrying him. There's... not a lot else to the story. But it was still an entertaining read, setting up stories for sure for Emerson's sisters, Wren and Cricket.

How to Embroider Almost Everything by Wendi Gratz

How to Embroider Almost Everything by Wendi GratzI've been on a crafting book kick lately including embroidery books. I'm just super curious if there's anything new out there in the world of needles and thread. The answer is, not really. But this is a fresh take with pictures that are good and instructions that, while not thorough, are better than most. This book also gives ideas for patterns - not full out patterns, just ideas.
