Wedding Night with the Earl by Amelia Grey

Wedding Night With the Earl (The Heirs' Club of Scoundrels Trilogy, #3)Adam never wanted to be an earl. Especially since he blamed himself for the deaths of his wife and child. But now he's Lord Greyhawke, guardian of his five-year-old heir apparent, and he's been commanded by the king to go to London and find a wife. He hasn't even bought the clothes that would distinguish him as a peer. But he schlepps himself and the heir (Dixon) to town and there he immediately puts his foot in his mouth at the first party he attends.
Katherine has never had this happen to her. Most of the ton knows she doesn't dance because of the two accidents that now cause her to walk with a cane. But the Earl, without even a proper introduction, is demanding that she dance with him.
And thus begins their courtship.
The language, not unusually for Ms. Grey, was a bit flowery for me. Plus Adam was pushy (but it was okay because he was a different kind of pushy from her family. Really?) and the ending was REALLY fast but overall a nice story.

The Duke and Miss Christmas by Amelia Grey

Louisa’s sister, Gwen, finds her match in this novella. She just doesn’t know it at first.

The Duke and Miss Christmas by Amelia GreyCrispin, Duke of Hurst, is visiting his uncle when he spies a young girl sitting underneath a tree. Since it’s close to Christmas, and presumably chilly, he walks over to talk to her and discovers that she has injured herself falling out of a tree trying to pick holly to decorate her home. While he’s trying to get the girl on his horse, Gwen (it’s one of her younger sisters he’s helping) comes along, believes that he’s up to dastardly deeds and proceeds to whack him with her basket.

Though this is a novella, Grey deftly adds notes about time passing so this isn’t quite a fall-in-love-at-first-sight-marry-soon-after novel. Nice addition to the series. Three and a half stars.

The Earl Claims a Bride by Amelia Grey

Harrison Thornwick is given a choice by the Prince, marriage or prison. He's only just come into the earldom. As a fourth son, he was far, far down the family line to inherit. Now his only focus is rebuilding the family manse (locals burned it down as a superstitious measure after Harrison's family died of a fever).

The Earl Claims a Bride by Amelia GreyAngelina is dreaming of the man she wants to marry, a captain in the army. Not some rogue who is more known for his exploits than his heroic attempts. But her father will be put in debtor's prison if she doesn't marry Harrison.
Blergh. I generally like Amelia Grey but this was not one of her better books. I rounded up to three stars but it was really more like a two and a half. There were so many story threads but none were really developed. And I never got why Harrison loved Angelina. He just sees her across a ballroom? I almost felt like it was more about the competition with her other beau. And the whole subplot of Angelina trying to save her father... what was the resolution? It just felt underdeveloped. A disappointing follow-up to a book I thoroughly enjoyed.
This book is coming out on August 4.

The Duke in my Bed by Amelia Grey

Image linked from Goodreads
Bray Drakestone is not a happy duke. His best friend has just died in a carriage accident. But before he died, Prim made Bray promise not only to take his dog, but also wants Bray to marry his oldest sister.
Two years later, all of London is agog to learn that Miss Prim is in town. Does that mean that she and Bray are finally going to marry? Bets are being laid everywhere.
Well, a lot of people are going to be disappointed, because Louisa (MIss Primm)has NO interest in being married to the man who helped hasten her brother to his death.
This was a good story that really brought the characters of Louisa and Bray to life. I wish there had been more talking about their pasts and where each was coming from, but overall, this was one of my favorite Grey books.
